First National Bank Invests in Local Education Efforts
$67,000 Donated to Enhance Educational Opportunities in Central PA

Johnstown, PA – April 23, 2012 – In the first quarter of 2012, First National Bank of Pennsylvania contributed a total of $67,000 to a selection of colleges, educational foundations and academic institutions across nine counties in Central Pennsylvania. One hundred percent of the contributions, made through the Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, were donated to locally run organizations whose mission is education.

The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies was one of 15 organizations that received a donation from First National Bank. Mike Kane, Executive Director of the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies comments, “First National Bank’s contribution is a reflection of their consistent support for our community and for their dedication to education. Their donation helps us continue to expand innovative community-based educational opportunities including robotics competitions, artist in residence programs and dual enrollment programs through which high school students can earn early college credits, making education more affordable for families.”

Other organizations receiving recent donations from First National Bank include the Bedford County Chamber Foundation, Inc., Bellefonte Education Foundation, Blair County Chamber Foundation, Inc., Central Cambria Education Foundation, Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation, Centre County Youth Service Bureau, Communities in Schools of the Laurel Highlands, Foundation for Indiana University, Hollidaysburg Area School District Foundation, Inc., Huntingdon Area School District Educational Foundation, Johnstown Area Heritage Association, Mount Aloysius College, Pennsylvania Highlands Community College and Saint Francis University.
