In 2018, FNB financed up to $25 million for the construction of a large operator of a solar power generating system. This funding will go toward one of four solar fields that a solar energy-producer will be using to provide clean energy across a large base of customers in Oregon, northern California and southeastern Washington. In 2018, FNB financed an industrial facility that will convert poultry waste to heat and power in North Carolina, which will be sold to a major energy supplier in the southeastern United States. Some of the power generated is utilized for the operations of an adjacent business with the excess being sold back to the local utility provider from the facility. Renewable Energy Credits are sold to various utility companies in the Southeast. This project helps utility companies fulfill their requirements for renewable energy resources, create new methods of disposing agricultural waste, use associated energy to power wastewater conservation measures and provide jobs in the local economy.
