Financial Support In addition to leadership and volunteerism, FNB has provided millions of dollars toward thousands of local community needs. In 2018, FNB donated more than $2.2 million to various nonprofits in our markets that focus on economic development, educational awareness and literacy, financial literacy, food and shelter, health and human services, religious organizations and response to natural disasters and tragedies. Our corporate values with respect to communities in distress are best illustrated by our collective volunteerism and financial support for relief efforts as a result of natural disasters in our communities and beyond. In 2018, FNB gave approximately $90,000 to the Community Foundation of North Carolina East Tornado Relief, American Red Cross to aid Hurricane Florence relief efforts and the United Way of Central Maryland’s ECStrong Fund to aid flood relief efforts in Ellicott City, MD. Following the tragic shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA, FNB donated $50,000 to the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh’s “Our Victims of Terror” fund to help with recovery. “Thanks to First National Bank for supporting youth financial literacy through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program.
