The FNB Mobile Banking app supports innovative biometric security features, which allow users with eligible devices to log in to the app with the touch of a finger or a glance at the screen. Biometrics are a faster, more convenient way to securely log in to the FNB app for iPhone and Android users.1

Biometrics are among the most secure authentication methods available. With Touch ID and Android Fingerprint Login, you can log into our app quickly and easily using just your fingerprint. If you are an Apple user with a supported device, you can instead use Face ID to log in with just a glance.

Additionally, your iPhone or Android device never shares your biometric information with the Mobile Banking app, so we do not have record of your actual fingerprint or facial image. Instead, we use a unique mathematical representation of your fingerprint or image to authenticate your identity. For added security, any transactions which result in money moving outside of your FNB account will require you to enter your password.

Important notes about biometric security

Biometric login is available for customers with a supported Apple or Android device. If you are not sure whether or not you have a supported device, simply log in to the FNB Mobile Banking app, select the "More" tab and select the "Settings" option. If you have a supported device, you will see an option for Face ID, Touch ID or Fingerprint Login. Select that option to get started.

Getting Started with Mobile Deposit & Biometric Security

To begin using Mobile Deposit & Biometric Security you need to have access to Online and Mobile Banking.

1. Visit Online Banking to enroll now.

2. Download the FNB Direct Mobile Banking Apple App Storeredirect png or Google Playredirect png2.

  Note: The User ID and Password you select will be used for both Online and Mobile Banking.

3. Enjoy the Security and Convenience of Biometric Login. 

  1. In order to use biometric login, you must first log in to the app using the same User ID and Password you use for Online Banking. You must select the option for the app to remember your User ID to use this service.
  2. To enable biometric login, select Services from the menu and then select the biometric login option for your specific device. Enable Face ID, Touch ID, or Android Fingerprint Login to get started. The next time you log in, you will be able to access your accounts using biometric security.
