FNB Mobile Banking with Biometric Security

First National Bank Introduces Touch ID, Face ID and Android Fingerprint Log In for supported Apple and Android phone devices. Now you can easily check your balance, protect your debit cards with CardGuard or find a branch with just a glance or touch of your finger!

Touch ID and Android Fingerprint Log In allows FNB Mobile Banking app users with eligible devices to log in to the FNB Mobile Banking app with their fingerprint, or with just a glance using Face ID, instead of using their Password. Biometrics is a faster, more convenient way to securely log in to the FNB app for iPhone and Android users.

To use Mobile Banking, simply search for “FNB Direct” in the App Store or Google Play and then log in with your Online Banking User ID and Password. You can also visit the “Alerts & Mobile Banking” tab in FNB Online Banking to learn more about Mobile Banking at FNB.

Biometrics is one of the most secure authentication methods available. Additionally, your iPhone or Android device never shares your biometric information with the Mobile Banking app, so we do not have record of your actual fingerprint or image. Instead, we use a unique mathematical representation of your fingerprint or image to authenticate your identity. For added security, any transactions which result in money moving outside of your FNB account will require you to enter your Password.

Once you have established the Touch ID, Face ID or Android Fingerprint Log In on your device, log in to the FNB mobile Banking and enable the service by selecting Touch ID, Face ID or Android Fingerprint Log In in the Services tabAfter the feature is enabled, subsequent access to the app can be accomplished with fingerprint authentication.  

Screenshot of Android fingerprint log inIt’s important to note that when you enable Touch ID, Face ID or Android fingerprint, any fingerprint stored on the device can be used to log in to the FNB Direct app. If changes are made to the biometrics settings on the customer’s phone (such as adding a new fingerprint), the feature will be disabled and the customer will be required to login with their Mobile Banking Password to ensure the security of their account.

Biometric login is available for customers with a supported Apple or Android device. If a customer is not sure whether or not they have a supported device, they can update to the newest version of the app. If they have a supported device, the customer will see “Touch ID”, "Face ID" or "Fingerprint Log in" in the app.

FNB Direct is available to all Online Banking customers and is free to install.  To use FNB Direct Mobile Banking, simply download the app from the App Store or Google Play store and use your existing Online Banking User ID and Password to log in. Message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. System availability and response time are subject to market conditions.
